About the Awards
The annual Enterprising Women of the Year Awards, which recognize the finest women entrepreneurs in North America and beyond, is widely considered one of the most prestigious recognition programs for women business owners.
Nominees are judged based upon: 1) the revenue growth of their company; 2) the leadership they have exhibited in their local communities and/or at the state, national or international levels; and 3) the ways in which they have given back to the women's business community by mentoring or supporting other women in business.

The 10th Annual Enterprising Women of the Year Awards Celebration
will be held March 12-13, 2012 in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The 2012 award winners and Honorable Mention recipients will be celebrated at the March 13 Enterprising Women of the Year Awards Gala Dinner. They also will be profiled in the special April 2012 commemorative awards issue of Enterprising Women magazine.

During October and November 2011, nominations for the 10th Annual Enterprising Women of the Year Awards poured into the magazine's headquarters from around the world. Following the close of nominations, the Enterprising Women editorial team reviewed the entries and undertook the difficult process of narrowing the field to a group of semi-finalists. Members of the magazine's prestigious Advisory Board then consulted with the editorial team and assisted them in the final selection process.
Congratulations to all the Winners and Honorable Mention recipients of the 2012 Enterprising Women of the Year Award. This truly is an outstanding class!

Join Us at the Celebration
The 2012 event will bring together dynamic women business owners from North America and around the world for two days of workshops, networking, exhibits, and awards. The celebration will shine the spotlight on the 2012 Enterprising Women
of the Year Award winners and finalists, with awards presentations at
the March 13 Enterprising Women of the Year Awards Gala Dinner.
The two-day gathering is open to winners of the Enterprising Women of the Year Award, corporate supporters, members of the Enterprising Women Advisory Board, VIPs in the women's business community, readers of Enterprising Women magazine, and members of the many partner organizations affiliated with Enterprising Women magazine. It is widely regarded as one of the premier networking opportunities for women business thought leaders and women entrepreneurs from the United States and around the world.
The event will include the Enterprising Women 2012 Connect, Grow & Inspire Workshops, as well as Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) Match-Making Sessions coordinated by the Women’s Business Development Center - Chicago (WBDC) and hosted by Office Depot at its corporate headquarters in Boca Raton.

Special Enterprising Women Foundation Opening Reception
Plan to join us for a special cocktail party fundraiser on the evening of Monday, March 12 at the Ritz-Carlton Fort Lauderdale to toast the one-year anniversary of the Enterprising Women Foundation.
Please note: This is a separate function that is not included in your registration. Individual tickets are available. This is a tax-deductible contribution. You may also choose to give to the Foundation at the following levels: Silver, $500; Gold, $1,000; Platinum, $2,500; Diamond, $5,000. Connect, Grow & Inspire Workshops and WBENC Match-Making Sessions to be Hosted at Office Depot
As part of the 10th Annual Enterprising Women of the Year Awards Celebration this March in Florida, women-owned businesses will have the opportunity to participate in match-making sessions with corporations interested in doing business with them. Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC)-certified women business enterprises (WBEs) are encouraged to register for this event. WBE certification, however, is not required; the match-making sessions are open to all women-owned businesses.
Monday, March 12, the first day of the 2012 awards program, will be hosted at Office Depot headquarters and will include:

a full day of Connect, Grow & Inspire workshops;
-
a luncheon and keynote address; and
-
an afternoon of match-making opportunities for women-owned businesses.
Shuttle bus transportation will be provided between the Ritz-Carlton Fort Lauderdale and Office Depot headquarters. Attendees will end the day with a reception hosted by the Enterprising Women Foundation at the Ritz-Carlton Fort Lauderdale. Tuesday, March 13 will include:

Ritz-Carlton Fort Lauderdale Chosen as Host Hotel
for 2012 Enterprising Women of the Year Awards
The beautiful Ritz-Carlton Fort Lauderdale will be the host hotel for the 2012 Enterprising Women of the Year Awards Celebration.
"The Enterprising Women of the Year Awards event has a reputation for being one of the most enjoyable events hosted for the women's business community each year. We have always selected a beautiful, luxury hotel that can serve as a mini-vacation for those who attend," Enterprising Women Publisher Monica Smiley said.
"As we compared other Fort Lauderdale hotels to the Ritz-Carlton and negotiated a lower group rate, we found that our special discounted room rate at the Ritz was within $30 a night of the rates we could get at other, less favorable properties. We knew our attendees would appreciate the quality of the Ritz-Carlton, and it would add to their overall experience at our awards event, so we closed the deal.
The Ritz-Carlton Fort Lauderdale is consistently ranked as one of the finest hotels in Florida, and the hotel's pool deck was named the "best place in Florida to watch the sunset." Considered a smaller, boutique hotel compared with many other Ritz-Carlton properties, the Ritz-Carlton Fort Lauderdale will be host only to the Enterprising Women of the Year Awards event during the two days of the celebration.

Dramatically situated to overlook the Atlantic Ocean, the seventh-floor tropical pool deck at the Ritz-Carlton Fort Lauderdale is a 29,000-square-foot showplace with an infinity pool, a relaxation deck, and a 60-seat bar and grill. Located just below the pool deck are 10 cabanas equipped with WiFi access, flat screen televisions, and waiter service; reservations for the cabanas are taken on a daily basis.
