Nicole Cober Cober, Johnson & Romney, Washington, D.C. Nicole Cober is principal managing partner for Cober, Johnson and Romney, a Washington, D.C. firm providing consulting, legal and strategic services to non-profit, private and public sector clients. Earlier in her career, she spent eight years as owner and operator of a day spa and hair salon chain that served as a revitalization catalyst in a developing area in Washington, D.C. Each year, she used her business for philanthropy by providing complementary services to Rachael’s Women’s Shelter. She graduated from Howard University School of Law and served as a judicial law clerk for the Chief Judge of the DC Court of Appeals. Today, she is a regular contributor to Black Enterprise and Citibank’s Women and Co. as well as a legal consultant for the local news. She is the author of CEO of My Soul , which chronicles her early days as an entrepreneur. Nicole serves as a SCORE mentor, a national network of volunteer, expert business mentors, and an instructor for the SBA’s Emerging Leaders program. She is president of the local chapter of the Twelve Days of Christmas Inc. Stephanie Sage Sage Restoration, Inc., Overland Park, KS Stephanie Sage is founder and president of Sage Restoration in Overland Park, Kansas, an emergency services company whose services include, water damage mitigation; fire and smoke damage restoration; mold clean-up, inspection and testing; odor control; hoarder and biohazard clean-up work. Her professional journey began as a sales representative in the mortgage banking industry, where she developed her sales and client service skills in the financial industry for several years prior to founding Sage Restoration. She was selected to participate in the first cohort ScaleUpKC! Program in 2015 as well as the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business Program as part of cohort six in 2016. In 2017 she was selected as one of the Kansas Woman Owned Business of the Year winners in the service category, and US Chamber of Commerce Dream Big Awards Finalist. Stephanie and Sage Restoration support the local community by donating items to organizations such as Goodwill Catholic Charities, Habitat for Humanity and others, while also providing financial support locally to Big Brothers and Big Sisters, and the Kansas City Women's Employment Network, among others. She encourages other young women to consider business ownership and is currently developing a podcast to speak to this topic. LaSonya Berry McPherson Berry, Ellenwood, GA LaSonya Berry is president and CEO of McPherson, Berry and Associates, a human resources consulting firm providing solutions for non-profits, government agencies and Fortune 500 companies. She is the recipient of IBM’s COM Award, and the IBM Leadership Award. The firm has been recognized with the Trailblazer Award from Greater Women’s Business Council and the Supplier Spotlight Award. She has served on a number of boards, including the Georgia Society for Human Resource Management State Council, GWBC, and the Carolinas-Virginia Minority Supplier Development Council board. She is the author of several books, including 101 Power Tips for the Workplace , and CEO Strategy Planner . LaSonya both volunteers for, and creates programs focused on aiding Millennials and their business in economically challenged areas or minority communities. She serves as a mentor and program leader to expose and develop women in the STEM fields, and is involved with the WBENC’s Student Entrepreneurial Program.
