Over the next five years, The Manufacturing Institute’s/ NAMs Women MAKE America Mentoring Program will create a nationwide movement designed to change the perceptions and elevate more women in lucrative manufacturing careers. We will be training more than 1,000 female mentors and helping them connect to younger women in the industry in four-year colleges and universities, community colleges, high schools, and middle schools. The Women MAKE America Mentoring Program acts on decades of research (see below) and more than a decade of impact to help close the gender gap in manufacturing. To partner on innovating this crucial initiative, TMI brought veteran in the mentoring space Change 4 Growth's Julie Kantor and her team. The initiative launches on April 28th in Washington DC at the STEP AHEAD conference recognizing the top women in manufacturing.
