Sharon Davison, Ph.D. is the CEO and co-founder of Red Sky Blue Water (dba: Red Sky), an award-winning, multi-discipline professional services firm headquartered in Seattle, Washington. Red Sky’s breadth of consulting services includes marketing strategy, user experience, software development, and program management, which it offers to a wide range of companies in the information technology, online retail, gaming, and construction industries. Red Sky’s success in this arena is due in large part to Sharon’s passion for user-centered design, cutting-edge technologies, and her 18+ years of extensive experience in program management and marketing. Together with her team at Red Sky, Sharon cultivates close partnerships with clients to better understand and anticipate their requirements, collaboratively develop solutions that address those requirements, and consequently enable them to realize a higher return on investment. Sharon’s success in adeptly steering her company through the business challenges of the past eight years has won her various accolades – most notably Enterprising Woman of the Year and a finalist for the Nellie Cashman award. Red Sky has also been featured on Inc.’s top fastest growing companies in the United States and has been listed as one of the region’s fastest growing companies by the Washington Puget Sound Business Journal. Sharon obtained her doctorate in ergonomics/human factors with a specialty in human-computer interaction (HCI). Her initial research comparing 2-dimensional to 3-dimensional spaces shaped the direction of early consumer products at Microsoft. Apart from her role as Red Sky CEO, Sharon is an adjunct professor at Seattle University where she teaches HCI design and software development to Computer Science graduate students. After Hours: Sharon is also a fifty-ton U.S. Coast Guard Captain and enjoys sailing in Puget Sound. Her latest venture includes getting her motorcycle license and a Harley Davidson. She is still a Sunday driver.
