Dana Hetrick started her career in flooring during an internship while pursuing her Bachelor’s
Degree in Interior Design. She fell in love with the industry, finding a passion in problem solving
to find the right flooring for the people using the space. After years of working in the
construction industry, Dana utilized her experience and invested in herself by purchasing Lucas
Commercial Flooring from a career long mentor.
Dana’s passion for flooring developed when she found that flooring can create a work
environment that makes an impact on the end user’s health, attitude, and productivity. At
Lucas Commercial Flooring, Dana built upon this passion and impact to develop a core value of
“Quality and Service” to make sure every customer ends up with a positive impact.
Since taking over Lucas Commercial Flooring Group in 2016, Dana has grown the company from
2 employees to 13. In her eyes, this team is the biggest accomplishment for Lucas Flooring. She
has surrounded herself with experts in the flooring and construction industry, to create a well-
rounded group that puts customer service and quality first. This shared vision among the team
led to being named one of the Best Places to Work in Kansas City in 2022 by the Kansas City
Business Journal.
Interesting Fact: Dana played roller derby in Kansas City for 7 years. She feels that through this
sport, she learned to stand up for her own ideas. Through roller derby, Dana found that she can
accomplish things that she never even thought to try.
Dana is also passionate about service to the communities where she works and lives. In 2022,
she was a Go Red for Women Woman of Impact nominee, where she and her team raised
awareness and funds for the American Heart Association. Dana is also involved with her local
small town’s support of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City, where she and
her husband host an annual BBQ competition to collect pop tabs and donations for the charity.
In 2022 they collected approximately 500,000 tabs for the charity in addition to donations from
the local community.
