Gia MachlinGia Machlin is President & CEO of EcoPlum, Inc. A successful entrepreneur, she founded her company in 2007 with the goal of inspiring and motivating people to live a more sustainable lifestyle and practice conscious consumerism. As a for-profit company, EcoPlum has a strong social mission to help combat environmental issues and is committed to a triple-bottom line strategy focused on people, planet, and profit.

EcoPlum Business Gifts is the company’s primary service, offering branded marketing solutions with its Sustainable Swag® line of promotional products at ecoplum.com. EcoPlum curates best-in-class eco-friendly gift items and customizes them for clients with their logos, taglines, or messages. The company’s environmentally responsible business gifts and premium promotional items enhance its clients' marketing efforts with their own branded merchandise - a visible symbol of their values.

EcoPlum is a Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC)-Certified Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) and is a Green America “Gold” approved business. Machlin and EcoPlum have been featured on ForbesBooks Radio, Green is Good Radio, WOR Talk Radio, Crain’s New York, Inc. Magazine and many other business publications.

Prior to founding EcoPlum, Machlin was President of MMC 20/20 Systems, Inc. In 1998, she co-founded Plan Data Management, Inc. (PDM) growing it into a thriving software and data services provider servicing Fortune 500 companies. A public company acquired PDM in 2006. Machlin’s professional experience also includes management consulting at Deloitte & Touche, along with sales and marketing roles at Unisys and AT&T.

Machlin received an MBA with honors from Columbia Business School and a BS with honors from the Columbia University School of Engineering and Applied Science.

Machlin is a longtime member of the Women Presidents’ Organization and a founding member of the Columbia Business School Alumni Club’s Sustainable Business Committee. She also serves as Board President of the Blue Card, Inc., a non-profit organization that provides cash assistance to needy Holocaust survivors. For the last 15 years, she has been an active volunteer in the New York City public schools.
