SPENCER-SHE RECOGNIZES THREE TEAM MEMBERS AND ANNOUNCES NEW HIRE

Kelvin Eades, Syed Imam and Savannah Smith Earn Degrees and Academic Honors; Judith Etiobhio Joins Team as Operations Intern

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – June 3, 2024 – Engineering consulting and training firm, Spencer-SHE, announces today the recent accomplishments of three team members and welcomes a new operations intern to the team at its headquarters in Birmingham, Ala.

Kelvin Eades, training manager and safety specialist, recently completed a B.S. in Health Science from Purdue Global University. Eades has been with Spencer-SHE for six years and has satisfied the requirements to be an OTI (OSHA Training Institute) training provider which issues OSHA course completion cards to students. He is also an American Red Cross instructor for a wide range of courses. He is an active member in the U.S. Army Reserve with more than 30 years of service to our country.

Syed Imam, project engineer, recently completed a B.S. in Civil Engineering at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Imam began his career at Spencer-SHE as an intern in October 2022 through the Handshake program at UAB that connects employers with candidates.

Savannah Smith, currently an intern at Spencer-SHE, was recently named a John Howard Scholar at Samford University in Homewood, Ala. Howard Scholars are intellectual leaders who serve as academic ambassadors to the Howard College of Arts and Sciences. It is a highly competitive program and only twenty students are selected each year. Smith is a junior at Samford majoring in Environmental Science with a double minor in General Business and Biology.

Judith Etiobhio, originally from Lagos, Nigeria, joined the Spencer-SHE team in May 2024 as an operations intern. Previously, she served as sustainability student intern at the UAB Recycling Center, where she educated clients on recycling. Prior to that, she was a deputy manager at Heritage Bank PLC in Lagos, Nigeria and served as the head of business development at Zemsi Nigeria Limited. Etiobhio spent 20 years in retail and commercial banking in various roles at Bank PHB including investment analyst, senior banking officer and assistant manager. She holds a Master of Science degree in Political Science and a Bachelor of Science degree with honors in Economics from the University of Ibadan. Etiobhio is currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in Public Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

In her new role at Spencer-SHE, Etiobhio plans to combine her experience in sustainability with her studies in Public Administration to devise ethical methods of integrating sustainable practices into health, safety and environmental conservation.
