Taylor, Michelle

Michelle Taylor is the President and CEO of BETAH Associates, Inc. (BETAH)—a marketing, communication, and professional services firm bridging the gap between government agencies and the communities they serve. Her vision and entrepreneurial resilience led to BETAH's recognition by Inc. magazine on its Inc. 5000  list of America's fastest-growing companies, by Washington Business Journal's 2019 Best Family-Owned Business, by the Capital Region Minority Supplier Development Council's 2019 Top 100 Minority Business Enterprises, and by the Governor of Maryland for the company's economic impact on the state and its service to communities in 2020.

Ms. Taylor has over 20 years of experience in communications and marketing, community engagement, and events coordination. She has developed and implemented national and local communications campaigns for public- and private-sector clients. With a commitment to encouraging other business owners, Ms. Taylor is Chair Emerita and a board member of the Maryland Black Chamber of Commerce. She is a founding member of the BOW Collective—an organization that advocates for Black women entrepreneurs.  Additionally, she is the creator of her signature workshop, “Ordered Steps: Lessons from a Sudden to Successful CEO,” for emerging female entrepreneurs. Her dedication to economic equity within the Black community led her to co-create the Montgomery County Black Collective.

Given her commitment to service, Ms. Taylor is a member of the Local Management Board for the Collaboration Council for Children, Youth, and Families, is a member of Women for The Inn, a fundraising initiative for The Children's Inn at NIH, and sits on the Adventist HealthCare Shady Grove Medical Center governing board.

Ms. Taylor is a Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business Program graduate, a Forbes Agency Council member, and a Forbes.com author of articles on executive leadership and business growth.

Ms. Taylor is a graduate of the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.
