Chicago – October 9, 2018: Women Entrepreneurs Grow Global™ announced today that distinguished corporate communicator Mara Hedgecoth, senior director, Global Marketing and Communication at APCO Worldwide, joined the organization’s board of directors.

Hedgecoth has more than 20 years of events, marketing, fundraising and consulting experience. At APCO, she oversees all aspects of corporate communications, the development of firm’s brand, and global marketing and business development initiatives on behalf of the company, while helping to guide APCO’s strategic direction.

Prior to joining APCO, Hedgecoth worked in the hospitality industry for Visit Baltimore, Renaissance and Sheraton Hotels, and Walt Disney World. Her experience involved extensive event and hotel management, advising local businesses on marketing efforts, serving as a liaison between government agencies and businesses, and implementing innovative programs.

Hedgecoth is a member of the Arthur W. Page Society Future Leaders Experience and served as a steering committee member for Goodwill Industries’ annual Gridiron Halloween fundraiser for nearly a decade, when in 2005 she was named “Good Person of the Year.”

With the addition of Hedgecoth, wegg’swegg’s board of directors is comprised of 10 distinguished leaders from a variety of women-owned businesses. The board plays a foundational role in helping wegg achieve its mission of educating, inspiring and nurturing women business owners and entrepreneurs around the world on how to they can run healthier businesses and create a new future for themselves, their families and their communities.
