Raleigh, NC June, 2019 – NAWBO Greater Raleigh has named Shelten LLC President and Founder, Shelli Tench, as its 2018 -2019 Woman Business Owner of the Year.
Shelli Tench is the founder and president of Shelten LLC, a Raleigh, NC-based brand awareness company. She is a keynote speaker and published author on topics related to digital marketing and brand awareness best practices.
In the last seven years, Shelli has grown Shelten LLC from a small social media company to a nationally recognized brand awareness company. She runs her company with a servant’s heart. The number one core value at Shelten is “people over profits.” Her firm belief is that being an entrepreneur enables her to serve the community in ways that may not be possible otherwise. For example, she instituted The Boost Program at Shelten, which provides pro bono services to local nonprofits and charities. She also created a dynamic internship program that provides local students an opportunity to learn about marketing best practices and to develop their professional brand and networking skills.
Shelli is a member of the Enterprising Women Advisory Board and is co-chair of the Triangle Young Enterprising Women Mentoring Forum Program hosted by the Enterprising Women Foundation, a non-profit that pairs girls interested in STEM careers with mentors who are successful women business owners in those fields. She is also a member of the Governing Board of Athena of the Triangle, a non-profit that provides a pro-bono board of directors for one year to a local woman business owner, and she serves on the board of NAWBO Greater Raleigh as the membership chair.
Her love and appreciation for the United States Armed Forces is reflected in her volunteer efforts with Military Missions in Action. She is a board member and event chair for the organization, and is responsible for planning and managing fundraising and community service events.
